28 May 2008

Port Klang – CCM Duopharma Biotech Berhad (CCMD) is investing RM74.7 million for a three-year plant expansion from 2008 to 2010 as part of the Company strategy in meeting their growth targets of 20% per annum.

CCMD has purchased the land adjacent to the present manufacturing facility for RM3.7 million in March 2007 for cost effective synergetic operations. The investment will also cater expansion of production capacity, installed new machinery, upgrading of staff amenities and waste water treatment facility.

The plant expansion will then improve operational efficiencies, increase production capacity for small volume injectables and liquids, which are operating at full capacity and increase packing production capacity by 20 million ampoules/vials by 2010 without disrupting the existing manufacturing facility. The expansion of the warehouse facility will then help the Company to comply and fulfill regulatory requirements for storage purposes.

CCM Duopharma Biotech Berhad is a subsidiary of CCM Berhad which is listed on the main board of Bursa Malaysia with a market capitalisation of RM1 billion and is a key player in the fertilizers, chemicals and pharmaceuticals industries.
