Kuala Lumpur – Stress, piling workload and the adverse effects of pollution cause our skin to become dull, lifeless and unattractive. In addition to that, juggling work, family and friends leaves the women of today with little time for rigorous skin care regimes.
CCM Duopharma Biotech Berhad’s Prokin is an ingenious solution that promotes clear and radiant skin minus the hassle of routine skincare regiments.
Prokin uses marine collagen, a natural occurring skeletal protein in seafood with connective and structural properties, to restore the natural radiance and elasticity of the skin and directly defends against the signs of ageing. Collagen is needed for proper maintenance of skin texture, continuous renewal of cells, prevention of dehydration and in minimising the appearance of wrinkles and stretch marks.
In addition to marine collagen, the core active component of Prokin includes anti-oxidant Vitamin E that reacts with free radicals, the highly reactive chemicals that attack and damage cell membranes. Prokin also consists of skin health additive Zinc Gluconate that acts to promote the compounding of collagen. Zinc is an essential micro-nutrient that has been proven to have anti-inflammatory functions in the treatment of skin related problems.
Speaking at the launch of Prokin, CCM Duopharma Biotech Berhad’s Chief Executive Officer Leonard Ariff bin Abdul Shatar said that the Company’s latest product is an all-natural oral skin supplement that has been scientifically proven to be safe and effective.
“While other skin products in the market also contain collagen, these products are packaged as applied collagen, which works less effectively than oral collagen. This is due to the fact that collagen molecules are too large to be absorbed into the skin.
“Over the years, cosmetic collagen treatments have also been introduced to counter ageing but they are considerably more costly and causes painful and dangerous side effects and allergic reactions. Moreover, the treatments are short-lived as the collagen is only reabsorbed into the body within six to 18 months. Oral collagen has been proven to be a better way to supplement and replace lost collagen,” said Leonard Ariff.
What sets Prokin apart from other skin care products is that it is specially formulated for Asian skin. Asians, for one, tend to have larger pores that impart the appearance of uneven skin tone and textures. Signs of ageing on Asian skin are reflected with the onset of dark spots, excessive freckling and hyper-pigmentation. Besides that, stress, hormonal imbalances and internal health problems also tend to show on Asian skin more easily.
Asian women also face another disparate predicament compared to their Western counterparts. Differences in climate can further influence the makeup of a woman’s epidermis. Albeit the absence of four seasons in South East Asia, the weather often changes in extremes which irritates the skin. On hot days, the body produces natural adrenaline that in turn induces additional oil secretion to protect the skin from over-heating. Inversely, colder days cause the body to minimise oil secretion that dries up the skin. Eastern and South East Asian skin are already highly prone to blemishes and acne, but can be further aggravated by the usage of popular skincare products that are generally catered for Caucasians and tend to contain large volumes or waxy or oily compounds.
“Prokin, suitable for women of all ages, will certainly help to bid your skin woes goodbye in one easy step. Achieving clear, radiant skin is now possible for all women,” added Leonard Ariff.
Prokin is sold in a box of 30 tablets for RM98 and is available at leading pharmacies nationwide.
CCM Duopharma Biotech Berhad is a subsidiary of CCM Berhad, which is listed on the main board of Bursa Malaysia with a market capitalisation of RM1 billion and is a key player in the fertilisers, chemicals and pharmaceuticals industries.
