Kuala Lumpur – CCM Duopharma Biotech Berhad (CCMD) has appointed Leonard Ariff bin Abdul Shatar as the Company’s new Chief Executive Officer effective January 1, 2008.
Leonard, 43, succeeds Dato’ Haji Mizanur Rahman bin S M Abdul Ghani, whose contract as CCMD’s Managing Director ended on 31 December 2007.
Prior to this appointment, Leonard was the Managing Director of ICI Paints Malaysia Sdn Bhd since 2005. Leonard possesses a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the same university. Leonard began his career with CCM in 1996 as a Business Manager for CCM Chemicals Sdn Bhd before becoming the Managing Director of Prima Health Pharmacy (Retail) Sdn Bhd in 2000. He then went on to become the General Manager of ICI Paints Malaysia Sdn Bhd in 2003.

I am confident with his ability to implement CCMD’s strategy to enhance its position as a formidable force in Malaysia’s growing pharmaceutical industry, in line with the company’s plan to expand its manufacturing capacity and business activities in the ASEAN region,” said CCM Bhd Group Managing Director, Dato’ Dr Mohd Hashim Tajudin.
CCM Duopharma Biotech Berhad is a subsidiary of CCM Berhad which is listed on the main board of Bursa Malaysia with a market capitalisation of RM1.3 billion and is a key player in the fertilizers, chemicals and pharmaceuticals industries.
